Middle-School Students Arrested On Pot Charges
Four Spokane Valley middle school students were arrested on marijuana-related charges this week.
Two Centennial Middle School students were arrested Monday for allegedly selling marijuana to two other students last month, said Sheriff’s Office spokesman Cpl.
David Reagan.
Centennial Middle School officials began investigating what they believed to be drug activity at the school on January 19.
On January 20, two students arranged to deliver $40 worth of marijuana to two other students.
One marijuana delivery was hidden inside a highlighter pen. The other delivery was in a small plastic bag. The payments and deliveries were done inside the school, Reagan said.
The pen and bag were discovered and seized as evidence, Reagan said.
After interviewing students and school officials on Monday, a sheriff’s deputy made four arrests.
A 14-year-old boy and 13-year-old girl were arrested and released to their parents for misdemeanor marijuana possession.
Two other boys, 13 and 14 years old, were arrested for felony possession of marijuana with the intent to deliver. They were booked into the juvenile detention facility.
The Sheriff’s Office is still investigating the incident and there could be more arrests, Reagan said.
