Mining Cleanup Group Elects New Officers

The citizen arm of mining pollution cleanup efforts in the Coeur d’Alene River basin elected new officers Wednesday night. Idaho’s Citizen Advisory Committee elected rancher Mike Schlepp chairman. Timber industry representative Kelly Scott was elected vice-chairman.

Schlepp also appointed Marti Calabretta chairman of a recently formed task force representing Washington and Idaho interests in an ongoing U.S. Environmental Protection Agency cleanup study. Calabretta, a former state senator, oversees state mining cleanup projects in the basin.
