Todd Meldahl gave up just two runs in 7-2/3 innings of work and Ray Hattenburg and Bookie Gates hit back-to-back RBI triples to spark Washington State to a 5-3 victory over 19th-ranked Texas A&M on Friday at the Spalding Fiesta Baseball Classic in Albuquerque, N.M.
Meldahl scattered seven hits while striking out seven and reliever Sean Donlin finished for his second career save.
Hattenburg and Stefan Bailie each finished with three hits.
The Cougars take on Kansas State today. K-State came from behind to defeat Oregon state 7-6.
