The Chance

Sabrina Ovens, Spokane Valley

A chance went by

Like a bird in the sky.

The chance flew right past;

I didn’t even glance.

If I knew then what I know now,

the truth would have been known.

The chance would have been mine.

Everything would have been fine.

But I didn’t know then

What I know now,

So my chance has gone

To someone else.

Editor’s note: The Chance, a winning poem in Our Generation Get Creative contest, is being published again today. It was credited to the wrong student last week.
