Cheney Wins On Late Bucket

Ben Woodard’s 8-foot jumper with 25 seconds left Tuesday night lifted Cheney to a 54-52 win over visiting West Valley in a crucial Border League game.

Cheney’s win means the league is likely to end in a three-way tie for the championship among Cheney, WV and Lake City.

Cheney swept WV this season. The teams could meet up to three times before the state tournament.

Non-league Falls Christian 62, Lakeside 58 Ben Danforth scored a career-high 23 points, hitting 9 of 15 from the field, and added six steals to lead the Eagles over the visiting Knights at Post Falls.
