Letters To The Editor
Car lots always full
When I drive down Sprague Avenue, I wonder, “Who in the world is going to buy all these cars?”
It is absolutely mind boggling to see the number of brand-new cars parked on various lots all the way out to Pines Road.
Not only are there thousands of new cars, even the used car lots are full.
At first it seemed that people might be waiting for the first of January when the price of licensing was to drop. That seems to not be the case, because the first of January has come and gone and all those automobiles are still along Sprague.
It may well be that the thousands of cars have always been along Sprague.
However, there appears now to be a vast increase in the number stocked by new and used car dealers.
The thought comes to mind that perhaps our economy is not quite as solid as our leaders would have us believe.
If times are so great, how come the inventory on these car lots never seems to change?
If I am wrong in my assumption, I would sure be interested in knowing how it is possible for major dealers to apparently have on their lots the same batch of cars, month after month.
Hopefully, no one in the business will take offense at my observation, for that is all it is, an observation. But it strikes me rather peculiar that this condition never seems to change. David C. Ferguson Spokane
