Meeting Center Opens In Valley

A new meeting center has opened in the Valley.

Neville Auditorium, located in the Argonne Mission Plaza at 1445 N. Argonne Road, was designed as a meeting place for the Spokane Spiritual Center.

The center’s members decided to rent out the 5,000-square-foot auditorium because they wanted the facility to get more use, said manager Evelyn Genta.

Located inside Miracles Books and Gifts, the auditorium seats up to 250 people and rents for $200 to $550, depending on time of day and number of participants. There are also smaller meeting rooms available.

The center began taking reservations in January.

Air cargo traffic up at Felts

Felts Field Airport had a large increase in air freight in 1999.

The Valley airport handled 143.6 tons of air frieght in 1999, up from 67.8 tons in 1998, a 126.6 percent increase.

The increase was due to DHL, a shipping company, using Felts Field rather than Spokane International Airport as its base in 1999.

New Wendy’s coming to Valley

Zoning has been approved for a new fast-food restaurant in the Valley.

Wendy’s Old-Fashioned Hamburgers will lease a 35,459-square-foot property at the southwest corner of Argonne and Knox and build a 3,300-square-foot restaurant there.

Construction will likely start this spring and the new restaurant is slated to be completed by the end of summer.

It will be the third Wendy’s in the Valley.

The restaurant will likely seat 94 people, have parking for 47 vehicles and will employ 30 to 35 people.
