Fedex To Move In Cda

FedEx will double its space here with a new building at 3832 Schreiber Way.

Construction on the $2.6 million, 33,000-square foot building will begin this spring, said developer Chris Smith of Portland. The building will be located on 3.2 acres in the Coeur d’Alene Commerce Park.

“It will be a state-of-the-art facility for FedEx,” Smith said.

CAS Properties will own the building and lease it to FedEx. Smith and his wife, Christine, own CAS Properties, as well as a construction company, Design Systems Northwest.

FedEx had outgrown its location at 1717 Northwest Blvd., said FedEx spokeswoman Carla Boyd.

“We needed a larger facility, and we wanted to be more accessible to our customers,” she said. A move is planned for fall.

FedEx does not plan to increase its staff of 32 workers, she said.
