Spotlight: Sports Officials

Officials groups for baseball and softball and youth soccer organizations are in need of help for spring and summer programs.

No experience is necessary; all provide training. People with experience in the sport usually pick up officiating quickly and work in well.

Baseball: Inland Empire Baseball Umpires Association, meetings Wednesdays, 6 p.m., Gonzaga Prep, Room 101. Info: 466-5738; 893-2403.

Softball: Spokane Softball Umpires Association, meetings Wednesdays, 6:30 p.m., Gonzaga Prep cafeteria, men and women. Info: 448-2866 or 489-5964.

Spokane Youth Sports Soccer: Ages 13 and older, male and female. Training clinic in March. Critical need in Cheney, Riverside, Deer Park. Info: 536-1800.

Spokane Valley Junior Soccer: Ages 13 and older, male and female. Training Feb. 18-20. Info: 922-7910.
