Knives In Class Lead To Arrests
Two Valley boys were arrested after a teacher said they brought knives into her classroom.
A teacher at Spokane Valley High School told a sheriff’s deputy that a 16-year-old boy had brought both a butterfly knife and a folding Buck knife to her classroom on Wednesday morning.
When the teacher demanded that the boy give her the butterfly knife, he passed it off to a 15-year-old boy and gave the teacher the other knife, the according to the deputy’s report.
Neither of the boys was reported to have threatened anyone with the knives.
It is illegal to have any type of weapon on school grounds.
The 15-year-old was arrested on a charge of possessing a dangerous weapon and was released to his mother.
The 16-year-old was also charged with possession of a dangerous weapon. He was taken to juvenile detention on an unrelated outstanding arrest warrant for felony drug possession.
