Playoffs Next For Ccs
(From Replay, February 18, 2000): The Community Colleges of Spokane women’s basketball team will not play Wenatchee Valley College in a single-game playoff. CCS’s next game will be Thursday at home in the first round of the NWAACC regional playoffs.
Bernice Stime scored 16 points and grabbed 11 rebounds Wednesday night as the Community Colleges of Spokane beat Big Bend 72-52 at Spokane Falls Community College to end its regular season.
The Sasquatch, with a 24-3 record, finished 10-2 in the NWAACC’s Eastern Division and can wind up no worse than tied for first place. Their fate hinges on the outcome of Saturday’s Wenatchee Valley-Columbia Basin game.
Wenatchee (25-3) bumped its conference record to 9-2 by defeating Yakima Valley 60-41. If the Knights win Saturday, they will finish in a tie with CCS and earn the right to play host to the Sasquatch, whom they swept, in a single-game playoff, probably on Monday night.
