New faces:

DigiDeal Corp. has hired Dana Hamilton as product coordinator. Hamilton has more than 12 years of experience in documentation management, quality and performance improvement, compliance in regulatory requirements and information systems management. She formerly worked for Spokane Cardiology as director of support services.

The following physicians have been accepted for membership in the Spokane County Medical Society:

Dr. Daniel R. Peters has set up a solo practice in ophthalmology. He graduated from Oral Roberts University in 1985 and completed an internship at Wilford Hall USAF Medical Center in 1986 and a residency at the University of Texas Health Science Center in 1991.

Dr. Ronda J. Gretebeck has joined Neonatology Associates Spokane PS in the practice of pediatrics/neonatal-perinatal medicine. A 1983 graduate of the University of Wisconsin, she completed an internship and residency at the Mayo Clinic in 1986. She also completed fellowships at the Metro General Hospital in 1988 and at the University of Pittsburgh in 1989.

Dr. Kent G. Davis has joined the Spokane Ear, Nose and Throat Clinic P.S. in the practice of facial plastic/reconstructive surgery/otolaryngology. He graduated from Baylor College of Medicine in 1993 and completed an internship and residency at Wayne State University in 1998. Davis also completed a fellowship at the University of Rochester in 1999.

Dr. Stuart A. Cavalieri has joined Heart Clinics Northwest in the practice of cardiology. He is a 1988 graduate of the University of Chicago and completed an internship at Michael Reese Hospital in 1989 and a residency at Oregon Health Science University in 1992. He also completed a fellowship at the University of Utah in 1996.

Abe Napoles has joined the staff of Nichols & Associates Private Investigations as a licensed investigator.

Moving up:

Cassie D. Fiedler has been promoted to executive vice president and Sandpoint branch manager of Pend Oreille Bank. Fiedler joined the bank in August 1998 as chief credit officer and will retain those responsibilities. Earlier, she was senior vice president and credit director for Bank United of Texas FSB, which is the largest savings bank in Texas. She began her banking career in 1981 as credit manager, commercial loan officer and assistant vice president at First Interstate Bank of California. In the late 1980s, she joined Union Bank in San Diego as vice president and regional loan officer.

Certifications:

Gregg Amend, a senior in the Business Assurance Service Group at Moss Adams LLP, has earned the designation certified management accountant (CMA) from the Institute of Management Accountants.

Accountants who earn the designation have displayed proficiency in many facets of accounting and financial management. Candidates must complete a nationwide comprehensive examination on accounting and related subjects, meet a two-year management accounting experience requirement and agree to comply with the Standards of Ethical Conduct for Management Accountants.

Vicki L. St. John, has been awarded the certified residential specialist designation by the Council of Residential Specialists, an affiliate of the National Association of Realtors. Realtors who receive the designation have completed advanced courses and have demonstrated professional expertise in the field of residential real estate. Fewer than four percent of all Realtors nationwide have earned this credential. St. John. is a broker with St. John Realty Co. in Tekoa, Wash. She is a member of the Whitman County Board of Realtors.

Valley Oral and Maxillofacial Ambulatory Surgical Center has been accredited by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Health Care Organizations. The accreditation means that the center has met nationally recognized standards for both quality health care and the commission’s stringent standards. To achieve accreditation by both the joint commission and the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Healthcare, Valley Oral and Maxillofacial Ambulatory Surgical Center underwent an extensive on-site survey of its facilities, records, committees and services provided.

Starting up:

Cathy Kraus has opened Heart and Hand Massage Therapy, a private licensed massage therapy practice, in Coeur d’Alene. A 1999 graduate of the American Institute of Clinical Massage in Post Falls, she is licensed as a massage practitioner in Washington and is nationally certified. Kraus and associate Lydia Benson have formed Bodywork Associates, a massage therapy practice also in Coeur d’Alene.

Idaho Independent Bank has opened a branch in West Boise. The West Boise branch is the sixth for the Coeur d’Alene-based bank. The new branch is managed by Tim Armstrong, and has a staff of 12.
