Lakeside In Consolation Final At State
Senior wing Michelle Kelley scored a game-high 17 points, including seven free throws, and Lakeside eliminated Parma 42-40 at Middleton in the Idaho State A-3 tournament Friday.
Lakeside hit 18 of 38 from the free-throw line. The Knights’ final nine points came from the line.
Sunni Jo Mullen’s two free throws with 10 seconds left sealed the win. Lakeside’s Amy Fuchs hit an estimated 40-footer to end the first half.
Lakeside plays Prairie (15-12) this morning in the consolation final.
Senior guard Tricia Haddock led Parma with 12 points, including a 3-pointer with just seconds left.

Cheney’s girls upset West Valley in Friday night’s opener of the Frontier League District 7 3A Tournament at Mt. Spokane High.
Julie Marsh had 11 rebounds and the No. 3-seeded Blackhawks eliminated second-seeded WV 56-54 to qualify for the Region IV 3A tournament.
KDee Anderson and Lori Regnier of Cheney hit free throws in the final minute to hold off WV’s charge. WV’s Vanessa Parvey scored 14 of her 22 points in the fourth quarter.
Cheney finished with a 42-25 rebounding edge.
Cheney will play Colville (14-6) at 8 tonight for the district title. The winner will be No. 1 to region, with an opening-round bye and a home game on Thursday. The loser will host Mid-Valley No. 3 on Tuesday in a loser-out.
