New faces:
Mark Curtis has been named operations director for the Downtown Spokane Partnership. He will oversee the Security Ambassadors and Clean Team, as well as parking management programs for the Downtown Spokane Business Improvement District. Curtis previously was membership services and marketing director for the Downtown Spokane YMCA. Earlier, he worked for Egghead Computers, The Bon Marche and Frederick & Nelson. Curtis earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration and an MBA from Eastern Washington University. He succeeds Terry Lawhead, who had served as the downtown partnership’s operations director since June 1996. Lawhead left to take a position with the Washington state Department of Trade and Economic Development.
Steven Davidow has joined DCI Engineers as a structural project engineer He previously worked for another structural engineering firm in Seattle and earned a master’s degree in civil engineering from Washington State University.

Dr. William L. Weigel joined Neurosurgery Associates of Spokane in the practice of anesthesiology/pain management. He graduated from the University of Nebraska in 1976 and completed an internship at Presbyterian Hospital in 1977. He also completed a residency at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center in 1984 and a fellowship, also at Dartmouth Hitchcock, in 1995.
Dr. Allan S. Troupin has joined the Rockwood Clinic as a long-term temporary physician in the practice of neurology. He graduated from the Columbia College of Physicians and Surgery in 1960. He completed his internship at the State University of New York in 1962 and his residency at the University of Michigan in 1965.
Dr. Eric A. Sohn has joined Indian Trail Family Medicine in the practice of family medicine. A 1996 graduate of the University of Nevada, he completed an internship and residency at Genesis Medical Center in 1999.
Dr. Jeffrey H. Sedgewick has begun practicing ophthalmology at Fairchild AFB Hospital. He graduated from Georgetown University in 1993. He completed an internship at Alton Oschner Hospital in 1994 and a residency at Louisiana State University in 1999.

Leadership Spokane is accepting applications for the Class of 2001. Each class consists of about 30 individuals who meet once a month from September through June. Tuition is $2,000 with a limited number of scholarships available. Applicants must attend a one-hour briefing. Starting up:
Jeff and Scott Morris have opened the law firm of Morris & Morris P.S. at 220 W. Main. Jeff Morris has practiced law in Spokane for more than 30 years. His son, Scott, has been in practice here for the past two years. Both graduated from the University of Washington Law School. The new firm’s emphasis will be in litigation, including family law, real estate, employment law, personal injury, commercial and business, and construction law. They also offer mediation services.
