Skier Hits Tree, Dies At Schweitzer

A 43-year-old skier died Sunday morning after he lost control and hit a tree at Schweitzer Mountain Resort near Sandpoint, according to a press release from the resort.

No other skiers or snowboarders were involved in the 11 a.m. accident, the release said.

The skier, whose name was withheld, was pronounced dead at Schweitzer by the doctor on duty.
