Epa Picks New Chief For Idaho Operations

From Staff

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency has chosen a new director for its operations in Idaho.

James Werntz, a 15-year employee of the agency, was named Idaho operations director Tuesday by Chuck Clarke, the agency’s regional administrator in Seattle.

“Jim brings a new set of skills and expertise to Idaho,” Clarke said. “We are expecting great things from him in terms of environmental problem solving, coalition building and rejuvenating partnerships with our many important stakeholders there.”

Werntz replaces Lynn McKee, who has directed the Boise office since 1977. McKee was chosen to be the region’s new Environmental Protection Agency official for agriculture.

As the office director, Werntz will lead a staff of 23 in monitoring human health and the environment.
