WSU Assistant Goes To Osu

Craig Bray, the secondary coach for Washington State University’s football team, has left the Cougars to join Oregon State. Bray will become the defensive coordinator for the Beavers, replacing Willy Robinson, who went to the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Bray worked with OSU coach Dennis Erickson at Idaho, Wyoming and WSU from 1984-1988. When Erickson left for Miami in 1989, Bray went to Idaho as the defensive coordinator.

He returned to WSU in 1994.

WSU coach Mike Price said a replacement for Bray should be in place before the start of spring practice on March 21.

WSU’s Thomas injures knee

Senior guard Jan-Michael Thomas suffered what could be a season-ending knee injury in basketball practice Tuesday. Thomas is the Cougars’ third-leading scorer at 12.6 points per game. Tests will be done today to reveal the extent of the injury.

LCSC women’s team No. 1

The Lewis-Clark State College women’s basketball team moved into the No. 1 spot in this week’s NAIA Division I poll. The Warriors (24-0) are the only undefeated NAIA team in the country, among men or women.

This is the first time in school history that an LCSC basketball team has earned the No. 1 ranking.

Mueller to be speaker

St. Maries native Randy Mueller will be featured speaker at the North Idaho Sports Banquet at 7 p.m. on Friday, March 18, at the Coeur d’Alene Inn.

Mueller worked for the Seattle Seahawks organization for 17 years before joining the New Orleans Saints as general manager in January.

Mueller was a multisport standout at St. Maries High. He quarterbacked Linfield College to the NAIA Division II national title in 1982.
