Lincoln, Ferry Counties Face Levy Elections
Three local levies are on the Feb. 29 ballot in Lincoln and Ferry counties, but the only attraction for voters in Spokane, Stevens and Pend Oreille counties is the Washington presidential primary.
In Lincoln County, the Odessa School District and the Odessa Hospital District both are seeking one-year operating levies. Small portions of the districts are in Grant and Adams counties.
The school district is asking for $415,000 at an estimated cost of $3.24 per $1,000 of assessed value. The hospital levy would raise $365,000 at a cost of 81 cents per $1,000.
In Ferry County, the Republic School District is proposing a two-year, $254,000-a-year operating levy. The estimated cost would drop from $1.56 per $1,000 of assessed value next year to $1.52 in 2002.
