Analysis
This one is a statistical standoff. The Seahawks are 22nd in offense, 23rd in defense. The Jets are 25th in both. Both are coming off huge wins. Seattle has three problems coming in. One, Ricky Watters’ health. Two, Keyshawn Johnson, especially if he’s isolated against pint-sized cornerback Willie Williams. Three, the Seahawks haven’t been in position to win a division title since Jon Kitna was securing his driver’s license. To their credit, the Seahawks defense, AWOL for a month, resurfaced last week, but they face a handful of Jets’ weapons: Curtis Martin, Johnson and an emerging Ray Lucas. While Vinny Testaverde rehabs a torn Achilles, Lucas has become a playmaker. Jets 20, Seahawks 17. (NOTE: Judging by my last month of forecasting, which rivals Norman Chad for futility, my latest pick probably bodes well for Seattle!)
