Capt. O’Grady To Talk In Spokane

From Staff Reports

Capt. Scott O’Grady, the Air Force fighter pilot shot down over Bosnia in 1995, will be in Spokane on Sunday speaking about his experience.

O’Grady’s F-16 was cut in two by a Bosnian Serb missile on June 2, 1995. He parachuted to the ground and survived in the Bosnian wilderness for six days, low on provisions and surrounded by hostile Serb forces, before a dramatic rescue brought him to safety.

His speeches include a strong emphasis on faith, family and country.

He will speak at the First Presbyterian Church at 318 S. Cedar at 6 p.m. The event is free, but O’Grady will take an offering for an Oklahoma family that lost its mother in a car accident.
