Rebounding power and sharp field-goal shooting al- lowed Lake City to pile up a 55-23 Border League girls basketball win at Sandpoint on Wednesday.

Ashley Cook, Erin Colwell and Kristin Chamberlin combined for 23 rebounds to lead the Timberwolves. Lake City shot 20 for 39 (51 percent) from the field to offset a 13-for-28 performance at the free-throw line.

LC’s Brandi Brumley added three assists and three steals.

Shaylia Davis scored 10 in the first quarter to launch the Vikings over the visiting Blackhawks.

The Vikings shot 49 percent from the floor and held Cheney to 6-for-24 shooting. Kari Lenz added four assists and Dani Bielec four steals for the Vikings.
