Snowboarder Collapses, Dies

A Spokane Valley teenager collapsed and died Tuesday afternoon while snowboarding with friends in the back yard of his family’s home in the Ponderosa neighborhood.

Preliminary autopsy results Wednesday showed Adam Metcalf, 15, died of cardiac arrest, said his father, Keith Metcalf.

Adam was a ninth-grader at Horizon Junior High School and had no previous health problems, his father said.

Funeral services are pending.
