Crown Pacific Buys Lumber Distributor
Crown Pacific Partners has acquired a wholesale lumber distributor in Albuquerque, N.M., expanding its presence in the Southwest.
Crown Pacific bought Cheshire Sales Co. for $5.5 million in cash and company units. The company also has wholesale lumber outlets in Phoenix, Las Vegas and Reno, Nev.
Sales from Crown Pacific’s wholesale marketing segment are expected to be about half of the company’s overall revenues for 1999, officials said.
The Portland-based company owns timberland in North Idaho and mills in Coeur d’Alene and Bonners Ferry. Crown Pacific closed and sold its Colburn Mill last year.
