That’s what the To Make A Difference contest is all about. To enter, you first must gather a group of students and register with the Chase Youth Commission by Feb. 7. * Learn how to use the Internet to search for scholarships. Spokane’s East Side Branch Library is hosting the free workshop: “Internet Searching: Scholarships and Financial Aid” on Jan. 24 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Librarian Louise Sullivan will lead the presentation, covering many resources and search techniques for the Internet, as well as traditional resources at the library. * Enter the Black History Month essay contest and win a cash prize. Sponsored by Eastern Washington University, the contest asks high school students to write a 500 word essay on the topic “How would your life be affected without the changes brought in by Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and others? What other changes do you hope to see in your lifetime?” Essays and a cover letter should be mailed to EWU AAEP Essay Contest Committee, MS-164, 526 Fifth Street, Cheney, WA 99004.
