Cheney Comes Back To Defeat Post Falls

Matters looked encouraging for Post Falls and bleak for Cheney after one quarter Tuesday night.

Looks were deceiving.

Lani McLauchlin’s layin and Julie Marsh’s two free throws, both in the final minute, allowed Cheney to post an improbable 28-24 Border League win over the visiting Trojans.

Desiree Johnson scored nine points in the first quarter to stake Post Falls to an 18-2 lead. The Trojans were limited to six more points, as they misfired on 29 of 31 field-goal attempts.

PF played without injured point guard Carmi Eberle (ankle).

Shaylia Davis totaled 21 points and eight rebounds to lead the 13-1 Vikings over the visiting Bantams.

Whytnie Budvarson added seven rebounds and Kari Lenz six assists for CdA.

For Kellogg, Jennifer Absec added seven rebounds, Heather Hoeck six assists and Cara Burkgart 6-for-10 shooting from the line.
