Cardinal Wrestlers Blank Yvcc

Travis Liermann and David Sand- berg had pins Wednesday night dur- ing North Idaho College’s 43-0 wrestling win over Yakima Valley Community College in Coeur d’Alene.

Liermann (165 pounds) led Terry Keys 9-1 before a second-period pin. Sandberg (197) pinned John Williams at 2:56 after leading 11-2.

Eric Smith (149), Trevor Floerchinger (157), Ry Stone (184) and heavyweight Alain Djoumessi had major decisions for the Cardinals.

NIC improved its record to 12-2.

Men’s basketball

CC Spokane 91, Yakima Valley 83

Chris Anderson hit 13 of 13 free throws to score 27 points and Andre Ervin scored 23 on 10-of-14 shooting from the floor, leading the visiting Sasquatch over the Indians in a Northwest Athletic Association of Community Colleges matchup.

Ervin also had 18 rebounds, twice as many as any other player in the game. Chris Allen added 8-for-9 shooting from the line to help the Sasquatch make 26 of 32 for the night.

YVCC’s Reggie Harris made 10 of 18 field goals to score 20.
