Teacher Workshop Planned Central Lutheran To Host Session On ‘Falling In Love With God’S Word’

Central Lutheran Church is one of two South Side churches hosting events presented by Keith Ferrin, founder of That You May Know Ministries.

A teacher-enrichment workshop titled “Falling in Love With God’s Word” will be held from 7 to 8:30 p.m. next Thursday at Central.

The session is designed for Christian education teachers, youth ministers and pastors. The cost is $10 per person, with a maximum of $50 per church.

Ferrin will also present a dessert theater for youth and their parents from 7 to 9:30 p.m. Jan. 21 at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church, 316 E. 24th. He will perform a one-act monologue of the Gospel of John.

Adult education classes start Sunday

Central United Methodist Church, 518 W. Third, on Sunday will begin a new adult education class titled “Practicing Our Faith: A Way of Life for Searching People.” The eight-week class will meet each Sunday at 9:30 a.m.

Another new class starting Sunday is titled “Social Issues and Our Social Principles.” The class will cover a variety of social issues and how the United Methodist Church has adopted particular viewpoints about each one.

The six-week class will meet every Sunday at 9:30 a.m.
