Wal-Mart Should Be Open By Early Spring

Developers say the Shadle Center Wal-Mart is nearing completion and should be open for business within a couple of months.

The exterior is all but finished as crews move inside to finish the guts of the building.

Managing partner of Shadle’s ownership group, Paul Pazooki, said at this stage of construction it is too early to shop for other retailers in the mall.

“It’s premature because we haven’t got anything ready for anyone else yet,” Pazooki said.

Pazooki said all the existing shops will be demolished except Lamonts and McDonalds, making way for a new Safeway where Chuck E. Cheese and Rite Aid now reside.

The future of shops such as Fantastic Sams and Westco Martinizing Dry Cleaning has yet to be determined, Pazooki said.

Pazooki did say the new structure going up near the Shadle McDonalds will be a Blockbuster video.

Carl Guenzel, the real estate broker for Blockbluster, said the video store is slated to open June 1.

Liquidation World will stay at the Shadle Center for now and Chuck E. Cheese Pizza will move to a north Nevada store when its construction is complete, said Paul Hawkins, also a partner in Pazooki’s group, P2J2 Associates.
