Two Businesses Recently Burglarized
An accounting firm and a brokerage office in the Spokane Valley were burglarized recently.
Investigators do not believe the two break-ins are related, the sheriff’s office said.
Gerald W. Miller & Associates Inc., an accounting firm at 25 S. Blake Road, had computer software and money stolen late Sunday or early Monday.
An employee called sheriff’s deputies after arriving at work at 7 a.m. Monday and finding a rear, eastfacing window had been pried open.
Deputies found that Windows98 computer software, $20 in cash and a laser jet printing cartridge were stolen.
Crossmark, a brokerage firm at 205 N. University, had electronic equipment stolen on Jan. 5.
A digital camera, small stereo, compact discs and a laptop computer were stolen.
Deputies have responded to alarms at the brokerage 11 times in the past year. They do not think the Jan. 5 break-in is related to the earlier incidents.
There are no suspects in either burglary.
