Nic Men Whittled To Six Players
The North Idaho College men’s basketball team doesn’t need a bench tonight. One seat will do.
The Cardinals are taking just six players to tonight’s game against College of Southern Idaho in Twin Falls. Guard K.K. Boyd and forward Reggie Johnson were suspended for the CSI game and for Saturday’s game with Treasure Valley because they skipped a practice, coach Hugh Watson said.
NIC (11-7 overall, 2-5 Scenic West Athletic Conference) is short on numbers because several players quit, transferred or were academically ineligible after fall semester.
CSI (16-3, 4-3) is averaging 100.4 points per game.
Cox back on roster
NIC starting center Heather Cox has been reinstated to the team. Cox, who was academically ineligible for two games last week, passed a correspondence class through Brigham Young University to restore her eligibility.
“We called the NJCAA today just to double check,” coach Greg Crimp said. “She really helps us.”
Cox, a freshman from Tekoa, Wash., is NIC’s second-leading scorer (11.9 ppg) and top rebounder (6.4).
