Seminar Explores Consolidating Government

A seminar on the Metro Spokane concept will be held today in the City Hall Council Chambers.

The seminar, organized by Councilman Steve Eugster, will explore the idea of a metropolitan municipal corporation, which would consolidate some city and county functions in a regional government.

Those functions could include water supply, sewer, public transportation, garbage disposal and comprehensive planning.

The seminar will begin at 9 a.m. and will last much of the day.
