Man Shot In Arm While Leaving Party

A 19-year-old man was shot in the arm in a drive-by shooting in north Spokane early Saturday, according to police.

The victim told police he and a friend were leaving a party on the 1500 block of East Illinois shortly after 3 a.m. when three men pulled up in a car and shouted obscenities at them.

Then one of the men fired a handgun, hitting the victim in his right forearm. The wound is not life threatening, police said.

The victim’s friend drove him to a hospital, but left before police arrived.

The shooting occurred on Hogan, between Carlisle and Illinois. Police found a shell casing in the street. The victim told police the men in the car were black and in their late teens or early 20s, police said.
