Amid nearly 200 poems and short stories — many talking about love found and love lost — this year’s Get Creative judges picked 12 winning entries. Some are featured here today, the others will be printed next Monday.

The vast majority of entries came from Lewis and Clark students. And while themes of finding the perfect love and losing the perfect love were in abundance, this year’s entries covered topics ranging from nature to the Civil War to racism and growing up.
