Marijuana Found Behind False Wall

Spokane police found 23 marijuana plants behind a false wall in the basement of a house in the 2400 block of North Hogan early Sunday.

Police were investigating a nearby shooting on Saturday when they smelled the odor of growing marijuana in the Hogan house, said police spokesman Dick Cottam. After obtaining a search warrant and entering the house at 4:20 a.m. Sunday, they found the pot plants, along with electronic scales, grow lights, fans, fertilizer and potting soil.

There were drying racks with marijuana buds in a closet, along with a book on how to grow the plant.

There was no one home in the residence. Police said two 22-year-old men live there.
