Shuttle Ready
NASA has cleared space shuttle Endeavour for liftoff Monday following an extensive review of the ship’s thermal tiles. The analysis was ordered after Discovery returned from space last month with a tile missing from its right wing. Endeavour is loaded with radar to map the Earth’s surface. Last week, NASA cut the mapping portion of the mission from 10 days to nine, to allow time in case of problems with the 200-foot radar boom, never before flown.
