Shaw Connects For Colville

Girls basketball

Ellen Shaw converted two free throws with 7 seconds left in overtime as Colville defeated Lake City 54-52 in a Border League girls basketball game Tuesday night at Colville.

Amber Hanson’s 3-pointer down the stretch in regulation put LC ahead by two points but Colville’s Alyssa Meinhold hit a 15-foot jump shot with 20 seconds left to send the game into overtime.

Shaw scored nine of her 11 points in the fourth quarter and overtime and teammate Karlie Pein had 12 rebounds and 10 points.

LC’s Cassie Bro had 16 points and 13 rebounds. She scored 10 of her 16 points in the second half, including two 3-pointers late in the game.

Colville led 34-30 going into the fourth quarter.
