Europe’s single currency, the euro, slipped briefly to a new low against the dollar Tuesday, with analysts citing the prospect of higher U.S. interest rates as one of several factors in its renewed weakness.

The K2 Corporation of Vashon, Wash., is recalling 12,000 pairs of in-line skates because of faulty brakes. The Consumer Products Safety Commission said Monday that brake mounts on the skates from the “Flight ALX” brand could crack and fail, causing the skater to fall and be injured.
