Police Ask For Help In Finding Suspect
Spokane police are asking for help in locating a suspect in a robbery and assault that injured a child Tuesday night on the North Side.
Witnesses identified Kenny Ray Stallworth, 28, as the man who kicked in the front door of an apartment in the 2900 block of North Hogan about 7:30 Tuesday night, Spokane police spokesman Dick Cottam said.
The robber demanded money from two women in the residence.
The women ran into the bathroom, where two small children were in the bathtub. The man forced his way in and fired a shot, according to police.
The bullet shattered the toilet and flying pieces of porcelain hit the two children, injuring one.
The man then hit one of the women in the head with his handgun, took some money and fled. Witnesses identified the suspect as Stallworth, who also uses the name Escobar.
Stallworth is black, 6 feet tall, 220 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes.
Anyone with information about his whereabouts is asked to call Crime Check at 456-2233.
