Knapp Quits Home Builders
The executive officer of the Spokane Home Builders Association has resigned.
Suzanne Knapp, who was promoted to the position in April 1999, stepped down Monday.
Knapp said she left to pursue other opportunities in the development industry. She declined to elaborate.
The Walla Walla native first joined the organization four years ago as government affairs director.
She has used her position as a platform to criticize the state’s Growth Management Act and local efforts to reign in urban sprawl.
Knapp has been mentioned as a possible candidate for Spokane County commissioner, but she said this week she has no plans to run.
“Everyone has a list of 10 things they want to accomplish in their lives,” she said. “That’s not in my Top 10.”
The Home Builders Association said it will launch a search soon for Knapp’s replacement.
