New Members Named To Eastern Board
Gov. Gary Locke has appointed two new members to the Eastern Washington University Board of Trustees.
Both come from Western Washington.
The new members are Cynthia A. Shiota, director of the Seattle Aquarium, and Neil L. McReynolds, vice president of external affairs for Kaiser/Group Health of Seattle.
Eastern President Stephen Jordan announced the new trustees Friday at Eastern’s monthly board meeting.
Shiota’s appointment begins Feb. 1 with McReynolds joining the board March 1. Both of their terms run through September 2005.
Shiota fills the vacancy created by Lucy Isaki, a Seattle attorney, who resigned from the board last May after she accepted a job with the Washington attorney general’s office. She had been appointed to the board in December 1997.
McReynolds replaces Jim Kirschbaum, whose term expired last September. Kirschbaum, executive vice president of Source Capital in Spokane, had served on the board since 1987.
