Kids on the ground

In their head knowing what is going down

Walking into a class, ready and prepared to kill someone.

Why?

Because someone said, “What’s wrong with you?”

“You’re not cool!”

“Your clothes are ugly and you need some new shoes.”

So now you’re prepared and ready for the end of time?

Life in a cell

Someone having to ring a bell

To tell you when and what you can do,

Losing every chance to grow up and become you.

So let’s just stop and think about it for a second … Is this

really worth it?

If you say no, then let’s go back into time to the dude that was

trying to humiliate you,

And let it slide

So then you can have the opportunity to be you

And live and be with people who care and love you

Author’s note: People often wonder what went wrong in the schools of America. Kids killing kids. Hate crimes off the charts. It’s not caused by TV, music or, in some cases, parents. It’s caused by how kids treat kids. I’m not saying let’s just start hanging around every person so they don’t shoot up the school. But try tolerating different cultures and groups. If we try treating people like you would want to be treated, things would slowly but steadily start to improve. I would like to end on this note: We took God out of the school and replaced him with metal detectors. It’s a sad but true statement.
