Life On The Streets

Abbe Turner Spokane Valley H.S.

I’ve seen the dirty looks,

Mothers grab their children

When they walk my street.

If you were me,

Would it be different?

I’ve traveled many distances

Never finding what it is

That I’m looking for.

You wouldn’t survive

Living in my shoes.

Darkness is my only friend.

I don’t want your pity.

Take care of my world,

For it may be yours soon.

Look into my eyes,

See the spirit that has been

shattered.

Look in to my soul,

See the hope that follows.

See me?

See me.
