The Chance

Megan Meyer, Spokane Valley H.S

Correction: This poem was written by Sabrina Ovens, Spokane Valley H.S. The poem, with the correct author’s name, was published February 7, 2000, page B1:

A chance went by

Like a bird in the sky.

The chance flew right past;

I didn’t even glance.

If I knew then what I know now,

the truth would have been known.

The chance would have been mine.

Everything would have been fine.

But I didn’t know then

What I know now,

So my chance has gone

To someone else.
