NEW FACES:

Spokane Teachers Credit Union has added the following people to its staff:

Pat Braddock was named manager of the credit union’s Valley branch. Braddock, who is a veteran of the financial services industry in Spokane, Coeur d’Alene and the Tri-Cities, has more than 20 years of experience in the field of management. She previously was responsible for forming and opening the Community First Bank of Kennewick.

Brad Hunter was hired as vice president of marketing. Hunter, who owned his own agency for 20 years, received a bachelor’s degree in communications from WSU in 1974.

Garry Matlow has joined Ronald McDonald House Charities of Spokane as administrative assistant. He previously was marketing and business coordinator for Coffman Engineers in Spokane. Matlow earned a degree in journalism from the University of Florida and spend 17 years as a reporter and editor in Texas and Florida.

Dr. Scott Strongin has been named clinical director for Group Health Cooperative’s Urgent Care Center. A graduate of Northwestern University School of Medicine, Strongin is board certified in family practice. He previously was in private practice in San Diego, Calif.

Jerry Gillogly has joined the North Wall Street office of Windermere real estate as a sales associate. Gillogly was previously a branch manager with Airgas Dry Ice in Spokane.

Windermere Real Estate has hired Pat Price as a sales associate at its Spokane-Johnson office. Price has seven years of residential and commercial real estate experience in the Spokane area.

Larry Roberts, a partner in Northwest Angel Investors LLC, has joined the board of directors of Translation Technologies Inc. He joins TTI co-founders Fred Zucker, Rob Daugherty and Mike McDonald on the board. Roberts has been a private investor for more than 15 years, doing business as LJR & Associates. He also has senior management experience in the high-tech environment, including stints with 3-Com, IBM, Rolm and Xerox. Privately held TTI is a business-to-business, Web-based application service provider specializing in CAD-to-CAD translations.

MOVING UP:

Bill Akers has been named district administrator for the Eastern Washington/North Idaho District of Group Health Cooperative. A graduate of the University of Portland, Akers is an eight-year employee of Group Health.

Media Design has promoted the following employees:

Dave McClave has been promoted to vice president of research and development of Media Design. He is trained in various disciplines in computer science, multimedia production and editing, with additional background in journalism and sales. He manages research and development and is responsible for creation and implementation of various new products and services, including audio, video, computer multimedia and Internet-related functions. McClave previously worked for RXL Communications in graphics coordination and production, and Beyond Productions, providing professional recording services.

Lance Shew was named vice president of sales and marketing. He oversees sales staff performance and activity and all marketing functions of the company. Shew is responsible for company media purchases and related procurement, and also has responsibilities with vendor relations and market research. He has nine years of experience in public relations, sales and sales management within the retail and financial industries. He also has training in business and commercial music.

KUDOS:

Casey Getty, an investment representative with Edward Jones, has qualified for membership in Putnam Investment’s 27th Annual Golden Scale Council. Membership is limited to investment representatives who have achieved excellence in serving investors during the previous year. Getty, who has been a Jones broker for nearly seven years, worked out of an office at 112 N. University, Suite 100-A.

St. John Hardware has been honored by SRC Holdings Corp., a supplier of remanufactured products for Case Corp., as one of the top 40 dealers with the highest growth. Case has 2,700 dealers. Tom Sills, a St. John Hardware parts person, received a recreational trip to Branson, Mo., as part of the award.

Pullman-based Wheatland Express has received the highest rating possible as the result of a recent inspection by the Department of Defense Military Traffic Management Command. The company was commended for its maintenance and management program. The rating is needed for charter services to perform military transportation.

Drivers Russ Graves and Rodney Johnson and mechanic James Harris of Wheatland Express scored high at the Northwest Motor Coach Driver and Mechanic Regional Rodeo. Their strong showing qualifies them to compete at the national level in Biloxi, Miss. Johnson and Harris also competed at the national level last year.
