Bag Kids Found May Be Mobile Meth Lab

Some children found what may have been a sort of mobile meth lab in a North Side alley last week.

A man called police to report that his nephew had found a duffel bag in an alley near the 1200 block of East North, said police spokesman Dick Cottam.

Police said the bag contained glassware, including a bottle with a hose attached with black tape and a plastic container. Police said all the items had a white powdery substance covering them.

The materials were turned over to the Department of Ecology. Anyone who wants to claim the duffel bag and items should call Crime Check at 456-2233 and leave their name and address.
