Minister Leaves Post At Unity
The Rev. Ron Jones is leaving his post as senior minister of the Unity Church of Truth on Spokane’s South Side.
The church is planning a celebration to bid him farewell on Friday at 6:30 p.m. The celebration will include a potluck dinner and a dance.
Jones, 64, has served the Unity Church for the past three years. He is moving back to his former home in Evergreen, Colo., to join his wife, Jane, who had to move back there a year ago in order to continue her career with health insurer Kaiser Permanente.
His position in Spokane was Jones’ first as an ordained minister. He graduated from the Unity Village ministerial school in Missouri three years ago after spending 40 years as an employee of the federal government.
His plans for the future have not been decided, he says. He will leave Spokane at the end of July.
Unity Church of Truth has already started the search for a new senior minister. In the interim, the church will be staffed by semi-retired Unity ministers Thora and Weaver Hess.
