Women Fight Back After Road Attack
A road rage incident that began in Coeur d’Alene on Tuesday night ended in downtown Spokane, when a pickup truck carrying two menacing men had its windshield smashed out with a golf club, Spokane police said.
Two young women told police that a pair of men in a 1992 green Mazda twice tried to run them off Interstate 90 after the fireworks show in Coeur d’Alene.
At one point, when traffic was stopped, one of the men approached the women’s car and hit the driver in the face. The men also tossed drinks and cigars, and tried to urinate on the women’s car.
The women told police they tried to leave the highway at the Hamilton Street exit, but the pickup blocked their route. They drove on until the Lincoln Street exit, left the freeway, and pulled into a service station.
The men, police said, pulled in behind and one of the women got out of their car with a golf club.
When the men’s car accelerated, the woman swung, shattering the pickup’s windshield. The men then drove away.
