Forgery Suspect Found In Bushes
A 28-year-old man was arrested Saturday night after evidence of a methamphetamine laboratory and a counterfeiting operation had been found in his home the day before, a Spokane police spokesman said.
Kenneth Herbert Bard Jr. was found about 8 p.m. hiding in the bushes behind his house in the 3100 block of East Liberty - a day after officers had executed a search warrant there, police said.
Bard wasn’t home Friday when police searched the house. He told officers Saturday the methamphetamine cooking equipment belongs to a friend, police said.
Officers found a counterfeit $100 bill in Bard’s pocket, as well as credit cards and driver’s licenses belonging to other people, police said.
Bard was booked into jail for forgery and assault and on five outstanding warrants, police said. He has 31 convictions, including theft, forgery and 20 probation violations.
