Shadow Come Home In Third
It took much of the first half to get going, but by the time things were done Sunday the Spokane Shadow had taken over third place in the Northwest Division of the Premier Development League.
Mike Dorrington and Zane Higgins scored twice each and Kenny Krestian had a goal and an assist as the Shadow defeated Abbotsford 5-2.
Dorrington’s first goal, with the assist from Krestian, came in the 33rd minute. Six minutes later, Krestian scored off an assist by Tim Seely.
Abbotsford’s Iain Sneddon tallied in the 43rd minute and the score stood 2-1 at the intermission.
Spokane’s attack connected early in the second half. In the 46th minute Dorrington connected on his other goal, this one assisted by Seely, and the Shadow had a solid 3-1 advantage.
Higgins scored unassisted in the 62nd minute and connected again in the 78th minute with Krestian assisting.
At 8-3-3, Spokane is one standings point behind second-place Seattle and 10 behind division leading Yakima. Abbotsford is 7-8-1.
