District 81 Fills Posts
Spokane School District 81 officials have announced several new administrative appointments.
Janet Gores, former principal at Wilson Elementary, has been appointed principal of Moran Prairie Elementary School. She succeeds Marilyn Highberg, who has been named District 81’s new south-central area director.
Rita Burr, who was principal at Chattaroy Elementary School in the Riverside School District, has been hired as the new Wilson Elementary principal.
Rob Reavis, former middle school assistant principal and dean of students in the East Valley School District, has been hired as assistant principal at Sacajawea Middle School. He succeeds Paula Ronhaar, who is transferring to the assistant principal post at Chase Middle School.
Dave Petty, former District 81 coordinator of student services, has been promoted to supervisor of student services. He succeeds Mary Brown, who is retiring.
Randy Russell, who was principal at Flathead High School in Kalispell, Mont., has been hired as assistant principal of Rogers High School. He succeeds Maurice Paul, who has been appointed assistant director of the Spokane Skills Center.
Lou Haymond, former principal at Balboa Elementary, is transferring to Stevens Elementary as its new principal. Haymond succeeds Celeste Stoddard, who is retiring.
Cathy Comfort, formerly the large school facilitator at Longfellow Elementary, has been named principal of Balboa.
